Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout 2019 is two days of powerboat races – the largest unsanctioned powerboat racing event in the nation! August 24th and 25th, 2019.

There are no end of reasons why you should visit Missouri’s stunning Lake Of The Ozarks.

Lake of the Ozarks is a large reservoir in central Missouri created by impounding the Osage River. The lake has 1,150 miles of shoreline with a main channel stretching some 92 miles.

The lake offers a wide variety of activities and attractions, including boating, fishing, golfing, shopping, dining, state parks, and more. With so many options, you can enjoy as relaxed or exciting a time as you wish. If you’re looking for excitement, however, the annual Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout is hard to beat!

Largest Unsanctioned Boat Race in the U.S.

The first Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout was held in 1988 as a simple event between locals. As the years passed, the event grew. Profits from the race were directed towards water rescue services and the race was dubbed the Lake Fire Rescue Shootout.

By the 2000’s, the event had grown well past the “local race” stage and was drawing hundreds of boats and tens of thousands of spectators. Now in its 31st year, the Shootout is officially known as the country’s largest unsanctioned boat race. It helps raise funds for 8 rescue teams and other Lake area charities. Last year’s event raised more than $300,000!

Though the race itself is but a 2-day event, Shootout events occur all week prior to the race. There’s an R/C Mini Powerboats Shootout, golf tournament, treasure hunt, street party, auctions, poker runs, and more.

This year’s event will once again take place at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach.
