History of Route 66
Route 66 is a winding highway that goes from Chicago to Los Angeles and passes right through the state of Missouri. It was considered a “pathway of hope” for people to follow toward a more successful life than what they had. Route 66 was actually named at a christening in Springfield, MO back in 1926! Even though new interstates have given travelers a more direct route to their ultimate destinations, some still enjoy driving Route 66 and enjoying the beautiful scenery and fun things to do along the way. In fact, according to Visit Missouri, over 200,000 people drive the route every year.

Step back in time and capture the elegance of a Queen Anne Victorian Inn. The neighborhood offers shops, theaters, and the very best downtown restaurants. For breakfast, enjoy exquisite entrees such as Sausage Strudels or Cinnamon Cream-Filled French Toast. We are also able to customize breakfast to accommodate almost any special need. Our guest rooms have every imaginable modern amenity tucked away to create an elegant, yet comfortable environment. Have a soak in an antique clawfoot or a two-person whirlpool tub in front of your private fireplace or steam away your cares in our two-person steam bath. If you can bring yourself to leave the Inn, spend the day meandering through the hills of the Ozarks, shopping at a huge Missouri tourist draw – Bass Pro Shops, or exploring the Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium & Museum just 3 miles from the inn. Whatever you decide, our staff will pamper and serve you with the best hospitality of the 1800’s.
Swan Song Inn is located on our own lake – A 10-acre estate in Marshfield, MO, complete with a pair of swans. From weekend getaways to weddings, we are your destination for relaxation.
We are close to Springfield, Branson, Lebanon, Bakers Seed Village, Bass Pro, Laura Ingalls Wilder Home in Mansfield and many other places of interest along Route 66. We are also close to the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festivals in Conway.
We offer three 2-room suites, and two more rooms just off the main house. All the rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig for your convenience. The suites also have fireplaces, jetted tubs, and soft robes.
WiFi is available throughout the estate as well as Netflix and Roku. There are guitars in every room of the house and a baby grand piano in the common living room, all for your enjoyment and use. You can view movies from our extensive video library or unplug and spin the provided record albums to dance the night away on your private veranda. A gas fire pit is located on the main house front porch for your enjoyment. A natural fire pit is also located in the back yard – wood is provided. We offer bikes if you want to ride the three-mile loop where we’re located. The guitar-shaped dock is calling you to come sit a spell and watch our mascot swans glide by. Take one of the boats out for a spin, or grab a pole!
Come be our guests and take some time to relax. Our Motto is, “Enter as strangers and leave as friends!”
