Annual Saxon Memorial Fall Festival

Oct. 9, Frohna. “Watch demonstrations of skills and tasks from the 1800s to catch a glimpse of what life was like in the earliest days of Missouri’s statehood. Sample German foods and fresh baked goods made in an outdoor brick oven and finish off your day with a horse and buggy ride.”

Night of the Werewolf

Oct. 16, Ste. Genevieve. “Hunt down a werewolf with the “local militia” to rid the village of the prowling beast at this family-friendly event. When you have a moment away from your mission, take a lantern tour of the historic Bolduc House and listen to stories around the campfire while feasting on s’mores and cider.”

Maple Leaf Festival

Oct. 1-2, 9-10, 13-17, 30, Carthage. “Witness the largest parade in Southwest Missouri at the 55th Annual Maple Leaf Festival. In addition to the parade, there are a whole host of events throughout the month including a bicycle tour, Dachshund Dash, car show and a costume ball.”

The Ozarks Maker Faire

Oct. 23, Springfield. “Displays of invention and innovation are sure to impress and spark your own creativity. Makers of all types gather to entertain and educate fairgoers with their creations. This event promotes “STEAM” (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics) throughout the region.”

Autumn Colors Throughout the State

Fall color in the state of Missouri is gorgeous! People travel for miles to visit The Show Me State and take scenic photos of the beautiful leaves changing colors. Because Missouri has so many different kinds of trees, bushes, vines, and foliage, the fall color lasts in our state for a month to a month and a half.
